Strickland Claims First RMAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Award

Strikland posts two wins in collegiate debut with Oklahoma Christian

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Oklahoma Christian University freshman Cash Strickland claims the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s first men’s swimming & diving weekly honor, announced Thursday, which recognizes all competitions during September.

Strickland’s collegiate debut saw him claim wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.87) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.19) in a triangular against RMAC foes UT Permian Basin and Nebraska-Kearney. He then added a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:36.81) and an eighth-place finish in the 100 backstroke at OC’s Sam Freas Invitational, which included Division I opponent North Texas. He was also a member of the Eagles’ 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished third in their home meet, posting a split of 47.07.
