COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fort Lewis College freshman midfielder Alessio Andreottola is the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s 2025 Player of the Year and its Freshman of the Year, leading the 2025 All-RMAC Men’s Soccer Teams announced Thursday.
University of Colorado Colorado Springs sophomore Luke Noameshie was the league’s Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the second Mountain Lion to win that award. Metropolitan State University of Denver senior Nick McNeil became the first Roadrunner to be named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year. MSU Denver head coach Nick Kirchhof earned his first RMAC Coach of the Year honor, becoming the first MSU Denver coach to win that award since 2007.
That group of five major award winners highlighted the 2025 All-RMAC Men’s Soccer Teams, which included five freshmen among the 26 student-athletes recognized. The All-RMAC teams and awards are selected by the league’s 11 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
Andreottola, a native of Colmar, France, joins Fort Lewis alumnus Anton Hjalmarsson as the only players to be named the league’s Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season. Andreottola finished the regular season as the NCAA Division II leader in assists, averaging 1.08 assists per match with 17 assists and 16 matches. He also scored six goals, finishing the season with 29 points, which ranks him 10th among Division II players with 1.81 points per match. It is the seventh time in RMAC history a Fort Lewis student-athlete has been named its Player of the Year, and the third straight season – and fourth overall – a Skyhawk has earned the league’s Freshman of the Year
Noameshie, from Omaha, Nebraska, led a UCCS defense that allowed only 40 shots on goal during the season, fourth fewest in the league, and only 67 in all matches. He logged 1,169 minutes of action over 16 regular-season matches, including eight full 90s – all in RMAC action. Noameshie had one assist during the season, providing the helper on the lone goal in UCCS’ win at Regis. He is the second UCCS student-athlete to be named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year, joining 2016 honoree Derek Saunier.
McNeil, who hails from Draper, Utah, recorded three clean sheets and a 9-4-5 record and ranked second in the league with a .947 goals-against average and third with a .710 save percentage during RMAC play. In all matches, McNeil had five shutouts, a 1.157 goals-against average, and a .706 save percentage. He played 1,555 of the Roadrunners' 1,620 minutes and recorded league shutouts at Adams State, against Colorado School of Mines, and a regular-season ending clean sheet at Colorado Mesa.
Kirchhoff earns the league’s Coach of the Year in his sixth season at MSU Denver after leading MSU Denver to a share of the RMAC regular-season championship and the No. 2 seed in the RMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament. It is the Roadrunners' second RMAC championship, joining their 2007 title.
