MSU Denver and UCCS advance to Saturday's championship match

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – No. 1 seed Univeristy of Colorado Colorado Springs and No. 2 seed Metropolitan State University of Denver both got goals in the final 15 minutes of their respective semifinal matches to advance to the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament's Championship Match.

UCCS will host MSU Denver in a 1 p.m., Saturday match to determine the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship. 
 

No. 1 UCCS def. #4 Westminster, 2-1
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eduardo Macias' goal in the 77th minute proved the game-winner as No. 1 seed UCCS defeated No. 4 seed Westminster 2-1 on Wednesday at Mountain Lion Stadium. UCCS scored the game's first goal in the 6th minute as Luke Noameshie scored his first of the season off an assist by Miles Seminario. Westminster rallied to tie the game in the 24th minute on Alejandro Puente's goal with an assist by Kolson Helquist. Westminster outshot UCCS 6-4 on shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net outside of their one goal. UCCS goalkeeper Hugo Sjoberg made five saves in his 90 minutes of action. 

No. 2 MSU Denver def. #3 Regis, 1-0
DENVER, Colo. – . Phillie Villapudua's first goal of the season came in the 82nd minute, breaking a scoreless tie, and giving No. 2 seed MSU Denver a 1-0 victory against No. 3 seed Regis on Wednesday at The Assembly Athletic Complex. Regis had the better run of play in the first half, putting the period's only two shots on goal, but was kept off the scoreboard. Each team had solid scoring chances in the second half, but it was Villapudua taking advantage of a Regis turnover near midfield where he lobbed a shot toward goal where he caught the Rangers goalkeeper well off his line for the match's lone goal. MSU Denver goalkeeper Nick McNeil made four saves in the shutout win. .
