DENVER, Colo. – Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Mia Accomazzo is the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball Summit Award winner, the league announced Saturday ahead of the Roadrunners’ semifinal match against Colorado Mesa.
Accomazzo, a sophomore libero, earned the Summit Award thanks to her flawless 4.0 grade-point average in Sport Management. On the court, she has been just as impressive, leading the Roadrunners with 318 digs and adding 64 assists, the third-highest total on the team. With Accomazzo’s help, MSU Denver is one of the conference’s most explosive offenses, finishing first in the RMAC in points (1,709 / 18.38 per set), hitting percentage (.286), assists (1,226 / 13.18 per set), and kills (1,340 / 14.41 per set). Her impact helped propel the Roadrunners to the No. 1 seed in the 2025 RMAC Volleyball Championship and a share of the RMAC regular season title.
The RMAC’s Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site of their respective sport’s championship. Summit Award winners must compete in 20 percent of available competitions throughout the current season. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently concluded semester.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be sophomores or above and have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. They must also be active members of their teams and travel to and compete at the RMAC championship event.
