Lamb and Reed Thyne power their teams to two wins each in the season’s second full week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fort Lewis College sophomore Katie Lamb and Colorado Mesa University senior Olivia Reed Thyne are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by Genesee Nutrition 

Offensive

Katie Lamb, Fort Lewis (Sophomore, Guard, Parker, Colorado)
Lamb averaged 16.0 points per game on 43% shooting as Fort Lewis posted wins against St. Edward’s and Angelo State last week. In the Grizzlies’ 78-67 win against St. Edward’s, she scored 18 points with six steals and four rebounds while shooting 44% (7-of-16) from the floor. Lamb followed that with a 14-point outing against Angelo State with three steals and two assists.

Defensive

Olivia Reed Thyne, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Forward, Windsor, Colorado)
Reed Thyne nabs her second defensive honor in as many opportunities after averaging 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game in Colorado Mesa’s wins against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Alaska-Fairbanks. She scored 12 points and had nine rebounds (six defensive) along with a steal in the Mavericks’ 68-39 victory against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Reed Thyne followed that with 17 points, seven rebounds (five defensive), four steals, and two blocked shots in a 102-53 victory against Alaska-Fairbanks.
