Guth notches two NCAA “A” marks, Juarros sweeps diving events at TYR/CMU Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University junior Guillaume Guth and junior Jax Juarros claimed the latest edition of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Swimmer of the Week awards following competitions of Nov. 17-23 and announced Tuesday..

Swimmer

Guillaume Guth, Colorado Mesa (Junior, Toulouse, France)
Guth set two NCAA Division II “A” qualifying marks at the TYR/CMU Invitational last week. In what proved to be a fast pool, he posted the best Division II mark in the 100-yard freestyle with an altitude-adjusted time of 42.66. Guth also got an “A” mark in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:34.31 time.  He also had “B” qualifying marks in the 50-yard freestyle (19.59) and 100-yard butterfly (46.68). Guth also swam in the Mavericks 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle, 200 medley, and 400 medley relay teams, posting Top 3 Division II times in each except the 400 freestyle relay.

Diver

Jax Juarros, Colorado Mesa (Junior, Gilbert, Arizona)
Juarros won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the TYR/CMU Invitational last week. He posted a score of 573.90 in 11 dives in the 1-meter event and followed that with a 574.00 over 11 dives in the 3-meter competition. Juarros also added a 543.45 in a 3-meter competition in another dual with Colorado School of Mines, finishing second behind teammate Ryan Campbell.
