Colorado Mesa’s Qunell & Meyer Earn RMAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

Qunell posts an “A” qualifying mark and 4 “B” marks while Meyer wins diving events at TYR/CMU Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University seniors Ada Qunell and Kenya Meyer are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s latest women’s swimming & diving weekly honorees for the period Nov. 10-23, and announced Tuesday.

Swimmer

Ada Qunell, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Whitefish, Montana)
Qunell posted an NCAA Division II “A” qualifying mark in the 100-yard freestyle and added five “B” marks at the TYR/CMU invitational last week. Her 49.50 in the 100 free is the best mark in Division II this season, and she now has the best time in the 200-yard freestyle after a 1:45.95 that is a “B” qualifying mark. Qunell also added “B” marks in the 50-yard freestyle (23.31), 100-yard butterfly (54.33), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.69). She also swam legs on the Mavericks’ 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams, which posted the second- and third-best times in Division II, respectively.

Diver

Kenya Meyer, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Bozeman, Montana)
Meyer has already booked her trip to the NCAA pre-championship qualifying meet in Evansville, Indiana, following impressive efforts in the 3- and 1-meter diving events at the TYR/CMU Invitational last week. She won the 3-meter event with a score of 522.30 over 11 dives and tacked on a 483.50 mark in 11 dives to win the 1-meter event.
