Colorado Mesa’s Hansson & Meyer Earn RMAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

Hansson wins back-to-back 1000-yard freestyle events; Meyer scores in four separate diving events

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa senior Olivia Hansson and senior Kenya Meyer are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s latest women’s swimming & diving weekly honorees for the period Oct. 20-Nov. 2, announced Thursday.

Swimmer

Olivia Hansson, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Kivik, Sweden)
Hansson finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle event in both a double dual at Colorado State against Denver and in a dual at Utah over the past two weeks. In the Mavericks' appearance at Colorado State, she won the 1,000 freestyle event with a time of 10:15.81 and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:58.77. One week later, she won both the 1,000 freestyle (10:17.81) and 500 freestyle (5:00.95) at Utah and posted a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.96) while also serving as the anchor leg in the Mavericks 200-yard freestyle relay.

Diver

Kenya Meyer, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Bozeman, Montana)
Meyer led Colorado Mesa’s diving unit with four scoring performances in two competitions during the past two weeks. In a double dual against Denver and Colorado State, hosted by the Rams, she finished fourth in the 1-meter diving event (234.10) and sixth in the 3-meter event (230.95). Meyer followed that at Utah with a third-place mark in the 3-meter diving competition (252.75) and finished fourth in the 1-meter event (236.48)..
