COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado University’s Aidan McDowell and Black Hills State University’s Myles Johnson are the Week 3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards, presented by Genesee Nutrition, the league announced Monday.
OFFENSIVE
Aidan McDowell, Western Colorado (Sophomore, Guard, Crete, Nebraska)
McDowell continued his red-hot start to the 2025-26 season by earning his third straight RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honor, sweeping the award through the first three weeks of the season. This week, the sophomore helped guide the Mountaineers through matchups with Montana State Billings and Texas A&M International. Against the Yellowjackets, McDowell logged 37 minutes and poured in 28 points on 22 shot attempts, adding a trio of three-pointers and going 9-of-10 at the free-throw line in a 90-79 defeat. He followed with an even stronger performance in the Mountaineers’ 84-78 win over the Dustdevils, posting 32 points on 57% shooting while knocking down two more threes and six free throws. Through three weeks, McDowell is averaging 30 points per game while shooting an impressive 95.8% from the free-throw line, ranking second and 16th in Division II, respectively.

DEFENSIVE
Myles Johnson, Black Hills State (R-Senior, Guard, Portage, Michigan)
Johnson helped lead the Yellow Jackets to an undefeated weekend at the Dakota Challenge, securing wins over Minot State and Mary. He opened the event with a strong all-around performance against the Beavers, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, and two steals in a 72-65 victory. The following day, the Portage, Michigan, native matched his career high with three blocks, added another steal, and grabbed a rebound to propel Black Hills State to an 85-74 win. For the week, Johnson averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game, delivering impactful contributions on both ends of the floor.
