Adams State’s Aaden Valdez Earns RMAC Wrestler of the Week Honors

Valdez wins 157-pound title at the 46th Annual Midwest Classic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Adams State senior Aaden Valdez claims the latest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Week award, the league announced Tuesday.

Valdez captured the 157-pound title at the 46th Annual Midwest Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis. The Pueblo native powered his way through the bracket, recording six total victories, including a dominant 6-0 semifinal victory over Nico Taddy, who ranks 11th nationally at 157 pounds in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association rankings. In the championship bout, Valdez sealed the title with a 5-2 decision over Easton Worachek of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
