Colorado Mesa’s Allred Takes Home Both RMAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

Allred leads Mavericks on both ends of the court at the Great Western Shootout

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  Colorado Mesa redshirt senior Ty Allred claims the latest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, presented by Genesee Nutrition, the conference announced Monday.
 
OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE
Ty Allred, Colorado Mesa (R-Senior, Guard, Mona, Utah)
Allred swept both weekly awards after an outstanding performance at the Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas, Nevada. He opened the week with a strong showing against Western Washington University, scoring 23 points on 53 percent shooting while adding six rebounds, two blocks, one steal, and one assist. The redshirt senior followed that effort with another impressive outing against Simon Fraser, recording a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double along with two blocks and a steal. For the week, the Mona, Utah, native totaled 39 points (19.5 per game), 19 rebounds (9.5 per game), four blocks, and two steals. Behind Allred’s defense, the Mavericks limited Western Washington and Simon Fraser to a combined 46.0 percent shooting from the field.
