COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 1 Softball Athletes of the Week awards, with Black Hills State Pitcher Laci Peskey and Colorado Mesa Utility player Ally Distler claiming the conference’s latest awards.
Pitcher of the Week: Lacy Peskey, Black Hills State (Soph., Waller, Texas)
Peskey helped lead Black Hills State to two victories this weekend, with winning performances versus the University of Mary (7-1) and Minot State (1-0). Peskey went 2-1 across three outings this weekend, pitching three complete games and 21 innings. She posted a 0.90 WHIP along with an ERA of 0.67, which is currently the lowest amongst RMAC pitchers. Additionally, her 13 strikeouts in the season opening win over Mary were the most strikeouts in a season opener in program history.
Position Player of the Week: Ally Distler, Colorado Mesa (Sr., Littleton, Colorado)
Distler started and played in six games over the weekend at the DII First Pitch Invitational, logging four games at catcher and two in center field. She had a dominant performance, posting a team leading .471 batting average over the course of the weekend, to go along with two homeruns, three runs batted in, and six runs scored. Additionally, she recorded four assists in the field.
