COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third consecutive year, Colorado School of Mines’ senior Grayston DiBlasi is the 2024-25 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Wrestling Academic Athlete of the Year, the league announced Thursday. The 2024-25 Men’s Wrestling Academic All-RMAC Team and Academic Honor Roll selections were announced alongside DiBlasi’s award.
DiBlasi, a native of Thornton, Colorado, claims his third straight Academic Athlete of the Year honor with a 3.96 grade-point average in mechanical engineering. On the mat, DiBlasi posted a 22-6 record this season, securing his position as the No. 4 ranked wrestler at 141 pounds in both the National Wrestling Coaches Association and Open Mat rankings. With 95 career wins, the senior concluded his collegiate career with the third-most wins in Colorado School of Mines history.
DiBlasi leads a 10-member First Team Academic All-RMAC group with five of the league’s eight teams represented. Five student-athletes, including DiBlasi, are repeat honorees from the 2023-24 season, with Gus Dalton (Colorado Mesa), Denim Torgerson (Colorado Mesa), Oran Huff (Colorado Mesa), and Sage Harrison (Western Colorado) earning back-to-back selections.
In addition, the RMAC recognized 64 student-athletes, including the 10 Academic All-RMAC honorees, on its 2024-25 Men’s Wrestling Academic Honor Roll.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport who academically maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition.
Each institution’s athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league’s athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
