COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship tipped off on Tuesday night, with two of the top four seeds advancing to Friday’s semifinals. No. 1 seed Colorado School of Mines was one of those advancing and will host the semifinals and championship in Golden, Colorado.
Colorado School of Mines will face No. 5 seed Black Hills State, while No. 2 seed Regis will meet No. 6 Fort Lewis in Friday's semifinal matchups. The two winning squads will square off in the tournament championship on Saturday.
No. 1 Colorado School of Mines def. No. 8 Chadron State, 79-74
GOLDEN, Colo. – No. 1 seed Colorado School of Mines defeated Chadron State in a close contest inside of Lockridge Arena. The Orediggers were on fire in the opening half, shooting 65% from the field 62% from three. Behind their lightsout shooting, the Orediggers closed out the first half with a 12 point lead. With a strong paint presence, the Eagles turned things around in the second half, recording an impressive 38 points in the paint and 15 second chance points. Throughout the game, Chadron State put on an impressive scoring display, with Jalen Thomas, Darrius Miles, and Zy Wright going for 19,18, and 14 points a peice. However, the Eagles offensive output wasn't enough to slow down the Orediggers, as they had three players in double figures, including the games leading scorer Cade Mankle (22).
No. 2 Regis def. No. 7 UCCS, 93-90
DENVER, Colo. – In a thrilling quarterfinal matchup, the No. 2 seeded Regis Rangers emerged victorious over UCCS in a dramatic overtime battle. The thrilling 2/7 matchup saw a back-and-forth contest, with the lead changing an astounding 32 times over the course of 45 minutes of intense action. Kobe Sanders led all scorers with 31 points, playing a pivotal role in securing the win for the Rangers. Both teams showcased balanced offensive efforts, with four players from each squad reaching double figures. Gavin Carter paced the Mountain Lions with a strong 21-point performance, but it wasn’t quite enough to withstand Regis' late-game push.
No. 5 Black Hills State def. No. 4 MSU Denver, 79-69
DENVER, Colo. – In a highly anticipated 4/5 matchup, the fifth-seeded Black Hills State Yellow Jackets emerged victorious over the MSU Denver Roadrunners in a thrilling contest. The Yellow Jackets were sizzling from beyond the arc, shooting an impressive 41% from three-point range on the night. On the defensive side, BHSU stifled MSU Denver’s perimeter attack, holding the Roadrunners to just 13% shooting from three on 15 attempts. Cam Lowe led the way for the Yellow Jackets, finishing as the game’s top scorer with 22 points. For MSU Denver, Quave Propst-Allison paced his team with 15 points. The high-intensity game featured well-rounded performances from both sides, with eight players reaching double figures—four from each team.
No. 6 Fort Lewis def. No. 3 Colorado Mesa, 89-65
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 6 seed Fort Lewis Skyhawks cruised past Colorado Mesa in impressive fashion to advance in the 2025 RMAC Men's Basketball Championship. Guard Stewart Erhart led the charge, finishing as the game’s top scorer with 23 points. Erhart was outstanding, shooting 9-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, Erhart was equally impactful, recording six steals and one block, helping the Skyhawks capitalize on turnovers to score 21 points off mistakes. Ty Allred led the way for the Mavericks with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Fort Lewis’ all-around performance.
