GOLDEN, Colo. – For the third time in program history, the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers are Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Basketball champions. Graduate student Majok Deng earned the 2025 RMAC Men's Basketball Championship Most Valuable Player award after scoring 23 points in the championship game.
Match 7: No. 1 Colorado School of Mines def. No. 2 Regis, 92-64
In a commanding performance, the top-seeded Colorado School of Mines Orediggers claimed the 2025 RMAC Men's Basketball Championship, overpowering second-seeded Regis 92-64. From the opening tip, the Orediggers wasted no time asserting their dominance, racing out to an early 30-6 lead. Their relentless attack continued throughout the first half, holding a commanding 55-27 advantage at the break.
The Orediggers maintained their intensity in the second half, never allowing Regis to gain any momentum. With a total of four players scoring in double figures, Mines' depth was on full display. Majok Deng, the RMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, was the standout performer, leading all scorers with 23 points on an efficient 9-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. Eddy Egun paced the Rangers with 18 points on 50% shooting, but it was not enough to close the gap against a well-rounded Orediggers squad.
Joining Deng on the All-Tournament Team were Markus Pastorcic-Straun, Cade Mankle, and Riley Schroeder, each of whom played pivotol roles in Mines’ victory. Regis was represented by Jalen Brown and Chase Mayo Harmon, while Black Hills State and Fort Lewis were represented with Cam Lowe and Chuol Deng, respectively.
Following the win, the Orediggers await the announcement of their opponent in the NCAA DII Men’s Basketball Championship, which they will learn on Sunday, March 9, during the NCAA selection show. The NCAA selection show will be broadcast live on
