BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Always within striking distance, Colorado State University Pueblo’s women’s golf team used a 295 on the final day to win the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Course.
The ThunderWolves were always lurking during the championship. CSUP was third after the tournament’s first day, trailing Westminster by two shots. It moved up to second after Day 2 thanks to a round of 293, and trailed Colorado Christian, which posted a 291, by two strokes. Paired with both Colorado Christian and Westminster on the final day, CSU Pueblo used a 295 to match the Griffins and power past CCU which shot a 300. The Cougars and Griffins finished tied for second place with scores of 887 during the championship.
Alyssa McMillan led CSU Pueblo with a 218 which was good for fourth in the individual title race. Freya Constable finished tied for eighth with a 221 (five-over par), Lisa Ekberg was tied for 11th with a 224 (eight-over par), with Zoey Rodriguez (14th, 226) and Yale Lee (t-20th, 231) providing support.
Westminster’s Ashley Lam won the individual championship thanks to her second round of 68 during the championship, tying the championship record at Boulder Creek, and finishing with an eight-under par 208. The Griffins Kyra Sponenburgh was second in the championship with a two-under par 214.
Colorado Mesa’s Hunter Gledhill finished third after finishing the tournament with an even-par 216. Colorado Christian’s Makenna Brown was fifth with a three-over par 218.
