CLEVELAND – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference saw five institutions finish the winter season ranked among the Top 25 in the Division II Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, the most of any Division II conference.
Ranked No. 3 among all Division II institutions, Colorado School of Mines scored 263.50 points in the winter championships. The Orediggers finished ninth in men’s basketball, third in men’s indoor track and field, 11th in women’s indoor track and field, and 25th in men’s swimming.
Adams State jumped to ninth in the standings after accumulating 237 points in the winter season, led by fourth-place finishes in both the men’s and women’s indoor track and field events. CSU Pueblo maintained a spot in the Top 10 at No. 10 thanks to a sixth-place finish in women’s indoor track and field and a 14th-place finish in men’s indoor track and field.
Also ranked in the Top 25 were Colorado Mesa (No. 15) and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (No. 22). The Mavericks secured Top 10 finishes in both men’s and women’s swimming, scoring 235 points and propelling them into the Top 25.
Western Colorado (No. 40), Colorado Christian (No. 60), and Fort Lewis (No. 72) also secured spots in the Top 100, resulting in the RMAC having eight teams in the Top 100. That ties the league with the MIAA, NE10, and PSAC with most teams among the Top 100. Five other RMAC teams have earned points and are among the 217 Division II teams to receive points this season.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
