COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Christian’s Elyse McMullin has been named the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year, the league announced Wednesday. McMullin headlines this year’s All-RMAC selections, major awards, and Gold Glove recipients after leading the Cougars to a regular-season conference title and securing the No. 1 seed in the RMAC Championship. Joining McMullin among the top honorees are Black Hills State’s Laci Peskey, who earned RMAC Pitcher of the Year, and Ashlyn Englehorn, who was named Coach of the Year. Colorado Mesa’s Jessalyn Martinez was recognized as Freshman of the Year, rounding out the conference’s top individual accolades.
The All-RMAC teams and awards are selected and voted on by the league’s six head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their players.
McMullin earns RMAC Player of the Year honors after powering Colorado Christian to a 40-14 overall record and a dominant 36-8 mark in conference play. A consistent force at the plate, she posted a .389 batting average and an outstanding 1.012 on-base percentage during the regular season. Equally impressive in the circle, McMullin tallied 14 wins and a 2.89 ERA, establishing herself as one of the league’s most versatile and impactful players.
Peskey caps off a remarkable regular season by earning RMAC Pitcher of the Year honors. A five-time RMAC Pitcher of the Week award winner, Peskey was dominant in the circle, starting 25 games for the Yellow Jackets. The sophomore from Waller, Texas, logged 189.1 innings, posting a 2.07 ERA and racking up 236 strikeouts—leading the RMAC in wins with 22. Her performance has also drawn national attention, ranking fifth in NCAA Division II in strikeouts, eighth in innings pitched, and ninth in wins
Gallegos claims the Freshman of the Year award after an outstanding redshirt freshman season for the Mavericks. Gallegos wrapped up the regular season with a 16-3 record and a 2.20 ERA. She ranked among the conference’s top five in wins (17), strikeouts (27), and saves (3). With 150.1 innings pitched, Gallegos recorded 15 complete games.
In just her second season leading the Black Hills State softball program, head coach Ashlyn Englehorn has been named RMAC Coach of the Year. Englehorn guided the Yellow Jackets to a 27-25 regular-season record and their first-ever berth in the RMAC Softball Championship, earning the No. 6 seed. Her leadership has been felt across the board, which saw four players earn All-RMAC and Gold Glove honors
A total of 26 student-athletes representing nine institutions have been named to the 2025 Softball All-RMAC teams. Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, and MSU Denver led the way with five selections each, followed by Black Hills State with three honorees. CSU Pueblo and Colorado School of Mines each earned two spots, while Chadron State, Fort Lewis, UCCS, and New Mexico Highlands rounded out the list with one selection apiece.
