COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Westminster University sophomore midfielder Camden Stanley and Colorado Mesa University senior face-off specialist Mike Edwards were named the eighth edition of the Peach Belt Conference-Rocky Mountain Division Men’s Lacrosse Athletes of the Week, as announced on Monday.

Colorado Mesa, Westminster, and Concordia University Irvine have clinched spots in the Peach Belt Conference-Rocky Mountain Division Tournament. That four-team event begins Thursday, April 24, at the site of the division champion. The division tournament winner then travels east for the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Friday, May 2, with the winner of that game earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse Championship. 

Offensive Player of the Week
Camden Stanley, Westminster (Sophomore, Midfielder, Parker, Colorado)
Stanley scored nine goals and had three assists as the Griffins split a pair of divisional contests, defeating Adams State 18-3 before falling to Colorado Mesa 13-11. He scored four goals on four attempts against the Grizzlies, including the opening goal, and tacked on two assists. Stanley then supplied five goals on five shots on goal against the Mavericks, with another assist. All nine of his shots on goal during the week found the back of the net, and he caused three turnovers.
 
Honorable Mention: Jack Cooper, Colorado Mesa.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Mike Edwards, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Face-off Specialist, Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Edwards posted a .667 face-off win percentage and had 12 groundballs during the Mavericks’ two divisional wins last week – a 22-5 victory against Adams State and a 13-11 win at Westminster. He won 7-of-8 faceoffs against the Grizzlies while scooping up four ground balls and scoring an unassisted goal. Edwards then won 13-of-22 faceoffs against the Griffins and grabbed eight groundballs while putting another shot on goal.
 
Honorable Mention: Liam Sweeney, Westminster.
