COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University redshirt senior Ally Distler is the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. The 2025 First Team Academic All-RMAC Softball Team and Academic Honor Roll selections were announced alongside Distler’s latest honor.
Distler, a native of Littleton, Colorado, claims her third Academic Player of the Year honor in her illustrious career at Colorado Mesa. Throughout her time at CMU, Distler has collected three Academic Player of the Year awards, three First Team Academic All-RMAC selections, and two Summit Awards.
On the field, Distler is a standout performer, collecting three First Team All-RMAC nods and one Second Team All-RMAC selection. This season, Distler has continued to be spectacular, collecting 56 RBI, 16 home runs, and a .318 batting average. In the field, the Littleton, Colorado product recorded a .996 fielding percentage, 245 putouts, and one error. With the help of Dister, the Mavericks earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2025 RMAC Softball Championship and earned the No. 6 seed in the 2025 NCAA Softball Championship.
Distler leads a 13-member First Team Academic All-RMAC roster, with 10 of the league’s 12 institutions represented. Fort Lewis’ Amiee Shanks joins Distler as a repeat honoree. Shanks has earned an Academic All-RMAC nod in 2024 and 2023, giving her three consecutive academic accolades.
In addition, the RMAC recognized 96 student-athletes, including the 13 Academic All-RMAC honorees, on its 2025 Softball Academic Honor Roll.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport who academically maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition.
Each institution’s athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league’s athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
