COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Westminster University is bringing home some serious women’s golf hardware, with freshman Ashley Lam and head coach Denise Larson taking home the 2024-25 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference major awards. Lam claims the Golfer and Freshman of the Year awards, while Larson is the Coach of the Year.
The conference’s All-RMAC rosters were announced alongside Lam and Larson’s awards. The All-RMAC rosters and major awards are made by a committee comprised of the RMAC Men’s and Women’s Coach Chairs, Men’s and Women’s RAC coach representatives, and a representative from the RMAC office after the NCAA Super Regionals. Coach of the Year is voted on by the league’s head coaches, coaches are not permitted to vote for themselves.
Lam claims the RMAC Golfer and Freshman of the Year honors following an outstanding 2024-25 campaign for the Griffins. Lam competed in nine tournaments for her squad. The freshman’s top performance of the season came at the 2025 RMAC Women’s Golf Championship, where she finished as the top golfer in the 54-person field, scoring an eight-under 208 over the three-round tournament. With a scoring average of 75.6, Lam is the 163rd-ranked golfer in Division II and the 46th-ranked golfer in the region. Lam also competed as an individual at the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf West Regional, finishing 22nd with a 10-over-par 223.
Larson is the RMAC Coach of the Year award winner after guiding her team to a No. 82 ranking in Division II. As a team, the Griffins competed in eight tournaments this season, with their lowest finish being a fifth-place finish at the Swan Memorial Tournament held by Colorado Christian. Westminster’s season finished off on a high note, earning a tie for second place at the 2025 RMAC Women’s Golf Championship with a 23-over-par 887, finishing just three strokes behind the RMAC Champions.
The 2025 All-RMAC rosters recognize 16 student-athletes representing six of the league’s ten members. Colorado State University Pueblo led all teams with five All-RMAC selections. Colorado Christian followed closely behind with four honorees, while Colorado Mesa notched three roster spots. Westminster records two student-athletes on the rosters, while Fort Lewis and Metropolitan State University of Denver round out the rosters, each boasting one honoree.
