COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University junior Justine Anderson is the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Thursday. The 2025 Women’s Lacrosse First Team Academic All-RMAC roster and Academic Honor Roll selections were announced alongside Anderson's award.
Anderson, a business administration major with a 4.0 grade-point average, claimed her second First Team Academic All-RMAC selection and first Academic Player of the Year honor in her two years of academic award eligibility at Colorado Mesa.
On the field, Anderson proved to be one of the most dynamic players in the conference, tallying 39 goals, the seventh-most in the RMAC. The junior also dished out 27 assists, averaging 1.59 per game, which ranked third and fourth in the conference, respectively. Her all-around offensive prowess made her one of the league's top point producers, finishing third in total points (66) and averaging 3.88 points per game.
The junior’s stellar play led the Mavericks to an impressive 11-6 record, earning them a share of the regular season title and the right to host the 2025 RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The Mavericks advanced to the championship game, ultimately falling to Regis University. Despite the loss, Anderson’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament secured her a well-deserved spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Anderson spearheads a 12-member First Team Academic All-RMAC roster, with five of the six women’s lacrosse sponsoring institutions represented. Regis’ Madeline Schallmoser and Terah Skillings join Anderson as repeat honorees on the First Team Academic All-RMAC roster.
In addition, the RMAC recognized 65 student-athletes, including the 12 Academic All-RMAC honorees, on its 2025 Women’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport who academically maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition.
Each institution’s athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league’s athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
