DENVER, Colo. – Colorado Christian University reclaimed its place atop the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, capturing the 2025 RMAC Softball Championship with a decisive victory over Colorado Mesa. Entering the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed, the Cougars lived up to their billing by going undefeated throughout the four-day event. Sophomore standout Elyse McMullin was named Tournament Most Valuable Player, earning the honor with a series of stellar performances that anchored CCU’s championship run.
Colorado Christian University capped off its undefeated run at the 2025 RMAC Softball Championship with a dominant 6-0 victory over Colorado Mesa in Saturday’s title game. What began as a tightly contested matchup quickly shifted in the Cougars’ favor after a breakthrough fifth inning.
The early innings were marked by strong defense on both sides, with the scoreboard staying quiet until Cheyenne Stark crossed the plate on a Maverick error to give CCU a 1-0 lead in the third. That narrow edge held through the fourth, as Colorado Mesa’s defense continued to hold off any additional scoring threats.
But in the bottom of the fifth, the Cougars broke the game wide open. Elyse McMullin ignited the rally with a two-RBI single, driving in Stark and Mia Stankiewicz. CCU didn’t stop there—Peyton Marvel, Danae Lopez, and McMullin each added runs to cap a five-run inning that sealed the win.
Joining McMullin on the RMAC All-Tournament Team were fellow Cougars Sarah Dollerschell, Camryn Quilling, and Hanna Espinoza, highlighting Colorado Christian’s dominance throughout the championship. Colorado Mesa placed four players on the team—Ally Dister, Preslee Christensen, Khloe Kubitschek, and Myah Arrieta—while Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs were represented by Jaiden Giest and Jennavieve Goldsworth, respectively.
