Mavericks Sit atop RMAC Men’s Golf Preseason Rankings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University leads the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in the 2025-26 RMAC Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the conference announced Tuesday, along with the Preseason All-RMAC Teams.

Colorado Christian University’s Peyton Jones and Colorado State University Pueblo’s Marius Dosiere highlight the Preseason All-RMAC Team, as the only returnees from the 2024-25 First Team All-RMAC roster. The RMAC’s preseason team is determined by placing returning players in order of their final National Collegiate Golf Rank powered by Clippd.

The Mavericks hold the preseason No. 1 title ahead of the 2025-26 men’s golf season, securing 33 points with three first-place votes and three second-place votes. Under the stewardship of head coach Scott Sullivan, the Mavericks finished third at the 2025 RMAC Men’s Golf Championship, shooting 846 over the three-round tournament. Redshirt senior Timmy Cavarno returns for the Mavericks following a successful 2024-25 season, which concluded with him earning a Second Team All-RMAC selection.

Colorado School of Mines and CSU Pueblo follow closely behind Colorado Mesa, each earning 30 points to share the No. 2 spot. Fort Lewis College ranks fourth with 18 points, while Westminster University holds fifth with 17. Colorado Christian (12 points) and South Dakota Mines (7) round out the 2025-26 RMAC Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

In 2024-25, Jones was the 75th-ranked golfer in Division II, helping the No. 1-ranked Cougars win their second consecutive RMAC Men’s Golf title and advance to the NCAA Men’s National Championship. At the championship, Jones and the Cougars placed second, falling just short of becoming back-to-back national champions.

Dosiere capped off his season as the 125th-ranked golfer, securing a pair of Top 3 finishes and an even score at the RMAC Championship. With the help of Dosiere, the ThunderWolves were ranked 33rd in Division II.

The RMAC’s seven men’s golf teams are looking to finish 2025-26 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, the host of the 2026 RMAC Championship and NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship. The championship tees off on May 18 and will conclude on the 22nd. Ticket information for the national championship will be available at NCAA.com at a later date.
