Jones netted 223 rushing yards for the Highlanders in his collegiate debut, posting the third most rushing yards in Division II during the opening weekend. Moon put together the third-best punting average in Division II during the opening weekend.

Offensive

Jeffery Jones, New Mexico Highlands (Freshman, Running Back, St. Petersburg, Florida)
Jones made quite the impression in his collegiate debut, rushing for 223 net yards in New Mexico Highlands’ 34-28 victory at Eastern New Mexico on Thursday. He has the third most rushing yards in the early moments of the Division II campaign, and he needed just 19 carries to reach that mark, averaging 11.7 yards per carry. Jones also scored three touchdowns, including a 61-yard outburst with 3:19 left in the game that secured the Highlanders’ victory. Defensive

His strip sack punctuated the ThunderWolves’ first half, with the resulting fumble recovery by a teammate returned 64 yards to give CSUP a 22-0 lead at the break. Rullo led a CSU Pueblo defense that recorded four turnovers and its first shutout since the 2022 season.
