COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fort Lewis College sophomore guard Stewart Erhart claims both Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, presented by Genesee Nutrition, the conference announced Monday.

Stewart Erhart, Fort Lewis (Redshirt Sophomore, Guard, Tanana, Alaska)
Erhart had an outstanding weekend for the Skyhawks, leading his squad to a pair of wins against Western Colorado and Westminster. Against the Mountaineers, the redshirt sophomore notched 17 points on 50% shooting, including a three-pointer. When he wasn’t scoring himself, Erhart was dishing the rock to his teammates, collecting six assists. Defensively, the Tanana, Alaska, native was hounding the Western Colorado guards, as he tallied seven steals, leading to Fort Lewis’ 24 points off turnovers. Behind Erhart, Fort Lewis defeated Western Colorado 89-63. In the Skyhawks’ second matchup of the week, Erhart once again dominated both sides of the ball, recording a game-high 27 points on 35/40/85 percent shooting splits. In his 36 minutes of action, Erhart added four more assists to his week’s total, as well as nabbing seven of Fort Lewis’ 17 steals across 22 forced turnovers. With Erhart at the forefront of the attack, the Skyhawks defeated the Griffins 87-77 in an overtime thriller.
For the week, Erhart totaled 44 points, 14 steals, 10 assists, and eight rebounds (six defensive) while shooting 15-of-36 (41.7%) from the floor, 3-of-6 (50%) from beyond the arc, and 11-of-13 (84.6%) at the free throw line. Erhart currently leads all of NCAA Division II and ranks third across all three divisions of the NCAA, with 3.73 steals per game, and is dominating the RMAC with 6.0 steals per game in league play.
