COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa redshirt senior, Ruben Samuelson, claims the Week 7 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Week award, the league announced Tuesday.

Samuelson was a driving force for the No. 18 Mavericks as they swept their way to a 3-0 finish at the Tracy Borah Duals, hosted by Western Colorado. The 285-pounder from Carbondale was dominant throughout the day, pinning all three opponents in a combined time of just 4:05 as Colorado Mesa defeated Cal Poly Humboldt, Vanguard, and Minot State. Samuelson set the tone early with a one-minute fall over Cal Poly’s Preston Dixon, then followed with a 2:12 pin against Vanguard’s David Baxter. He capped off his perfect performance in emphatic fashion, flattening Minot State’s Braxton Rance in a blistering 53 seconds.
