Colorado Mesa’s Guth & Roethlisberger Named RMAC Men’s Weekly Swimming & Diving Honorees

Guth storms to three wins and Roethlisberger wins 1-meter competition in double dual at Denver

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University junior swimmer Guillaume Guth and junior diver David Roethlisberger claimed the latest edition of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Swimmer of the Week awards following competitions of Dec. 15-Jan. 18 and announced on Thursday.

Swimmer

Guillaume Guth, Colorado Mesa (Junior, Toulouse, France)
Guth claimed his third-straight weekly honor after notching three wins and a second-place finish in Colorado Mesa’s double dual event at the University of Denver, which included the University of Wyoming. He claimed individual wins in the 100 freestyle (44.15) and 200 freestyle (1:35.30) and was second in the 50 freestyle event (20.18). Guth then helped the Mavericks score a win in the 400 freestyle relay (2:56.32). He surpassed the NCAA qualifying standard in all five of his opportunities during the competition.

Diver

David Roethlisberger, Colorado Mesa (Junior, Blacksburg, Virginia)
Roethlisberger’s career-best 324.30 in the 1-meter diving competition helped him win that event in a double-dual against Division I opponents Denver and Wyoming. His six-dive total soared past the NCAA Pre-Championship qualifying standard of 285.00, securing his spot in that competition. Roethlisberger also finished sixth in the 3-meter competition (288.45).
