UCCS’ Sanders and Chadron State’s Salvucci Nab Latest RMAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Honors

Sanders earns second weekly honor of the season; Salvucci sets facility record in triple jump

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  University of Colorado Colorado Springs' Krissie Sanders and Chadron State College's Camila Salvucci have earned the fifth set of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Weekly Women's Indoor Track & Field honors. 

On February 27-28, teams will head to the Western Slope for the 2025-26 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Western Colorado University. 

 

Track Athlete of the Week
Krissie Sanders, UCCS (Junior, Littleton, Colorado)
Sanders delivered an impressive outing at the Colorado Classic, hosted by the University of Colorado Boulder. In the 60-meter hurdles prelims, she posted an NCAA provisional qualifying converted time of 8.69 seconds. She followed that with a season-best converted time of 8.62 seconds in the final to finish second in a field that included seven Division I athletes.
 Sanders currently ranks second in the RMAC and is tied for No. 19 in NCAA Division II in the 60-meter hurdles. This is her second weekly honor of the 2025-26 indoor track & field season.

Field Athlete of the Week
Camila Salvucci, Chadron State (Sophomore, Neuquen, Argentina)
At the Wildcat Invite, hosted by Wayne State College, Salvucci set a facility record and season best with her event-winning triple jump of 11.93 meters (39-1.69), closing in on her personal best of 12.03 (39-5.75). The jump currently stands as the second-farthest jump in the RMAC this season and is the only jump in the conference's Top 5 recorded since December. Her mark also earned the No. 27 spot in the Division II rankings.
