Dale collects three homers and seven RBI in UCCS sweep of Jamestown; Petersheim tosses six shutout frames in win against Northwest Missouri

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs third baseman Trevor Dale and Colorado State University Pueblo right-handed pitcher Jacob Petersheim are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Baseball Athletes of the Week, announced Tuesday.

Through three weeks of the RMAC schedule, MSU Denver’s 9-2 mark leads the way, with Colorado Mesa close behind with a 6-2 mark, UCCS out to a 7-3 start, and CSU Pueblo is standing at 5-3. The Mavericks and Mountain Lions enter Week 4 with five-game winning streaks.

In the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America South Central Region Poll, Colorado Mesa is No. 2, MSU Denver is No. 3, CSU Pueblo is No. 4, and UCCS is No. 10, with Regis among the teams receiving votes. Last week, Colorado Mesa was ranked No. 12 nationally, and MSU Denver was No. 23, with the next national poll to be released on Wednesday.

Dale continued his hot start to the 2026 campaign with three home runs and seven RBI, leading UCCS to a four-game sweep of Jamestown last weekend. He opened the series with a home run in his first plate appearance and went 1-for-3 with a walk. After walking twice and getting a base hit in the first half of Saturday’s doubleheader, Dale hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and walked twice and scored the walk-off run in the seventh after one of those walks. He finished the weekend with two more walks and went 2-for-3 with a double.  Dale finished the series batting .500 with a .765 on-base percentage (13-of-17, 7 walks, 2 intentional), and seven runs scored.

Jacob Petersheim, CSU Pueblo (Senior (RS), Right-Handed Pitcher, Broadway, Virginia)
Petersheim powered CSU Pueblo to a series-opening victory against Northwest Missouri State on Friday, tossing six scoreless innings. He scattered three hits and walked two while striking out four batters. The Bearcats batted just .150 (3-for-20) against Petersheim, who has not allowed an earned run in his first two starts of 2026.
