COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Adams State University's Kidus Begashaw and University of Colorado Colorado Springs' Michael Roberts, have earned the latest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Weekly Men's Indoor Track & Field honors.
The 2025-26 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championship is next Friday and Saturday, featuring qualifiers from around the league competing at the Mountaineer Field House on the campus of Western Colorado University.
Track Athlete of the Week
Kidus Begashaw, Adams State (Senior, Aurora, Colorado)
At the Boston University Valentine Invite, Begashaw competed in an elite 5K field, finishing behind only Division I and professional athletes. He clocked the NCAA Division II's No. 1 time of 13:27.42, which is seven seconds faster than the national No. 2 mark. The performance marks Begashaw's second No. 1 time in the country this season, adding to his 3K time of 7:50.08.

Field Athlete of the Week
Michael Roberts, UCCS (Senior, Arvada, Colorado)
At the Colorado Running Company Mountain Lion Open, Roberts had a strong performance in the weight throw, unleashing a toss of 20.39 meters, giving him the event win in a field of 19 competitors. This mark landed him a new personal best, a UCCS record that surpassed the previous record of 20.01 meters set by Luke Hard in 2025, and a new Mountain Lion Field House record. Roberts' throw ranks first overall in the RMAC and 10th in all of Division II.
