COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Adams State senior Isaiah Gamez is the 2025-26 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Year, the conference announced Thursday. Announced alongside Gamez’s award were the conference’s other major awards and All-RMAC teams.
Adams State takes home both Freshman and Coach of the Year honors, with Malachi Rider and Jason Ramstetter earning the awards, respectively.
The league’s seven head men’s wrestling coaches nominated and voted for the RMAC Men’s Wrestling Major Awards and All-RMAC teams, with coaches unable to vote for their own wrestlers.
For the second straight year, Gamez captured the RMAC Men's Wrestler of the Year award. The senior, hailing from La Junta, delivered another remarkable season, compiling a dominant 21-1 record with 12 falls, a 72% bonus rate, and an unblemished mark in dual competition. His near-flawless 2025-26 campaign propelled him to No. 2 at 125 pounds in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) rankings. Additionally, Gamez’s First Team All-RMAC selection is the third of his career, previously earning honors in 2024-25 and 2023-24.
Rider earned RMAC Freshman of the Year honors after an impressive debut campaign for the Grizzlies. The redshirt freshman posted an 18-5 overall record, including a perfect 5-0 mark in conference duals. Rider played a key role in Adams State’s conference wins over Colorado State University Pueblo (23-19), Colorado Mesa (23-16), Chadron State (22-10), and Western Colorado (34-2), recording two four-point performances, along with three and five team points in those victories. He also contributed four points in the dual against Colorado School of Mines.
Ramstetter earned RMAC Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Grizzlies through a dominant campaign. Under his leadership, Adams State posted a 9-1 overall record, including a 4-1 mark in conference duals. The Grizzlies overwhelmed opponents throughout the season, securing six victories by 20 or more points and four wins by 30-plus points. Ramstetter’s efforts propelled Adams State to No. 16 in the NCAA Division II Men’s National Rankings and a share of the 2025-26 RMAC Men’s Wrestling Regular Season Champions title.
All seven RMAC men’s wrestling programs are represented among the 21 selections to the league’s First and Second Team All-RMAC squads. Adams State paces the conference with six total honorees, followed closely by Colorado School of Mines with five. Chadron State College and Colorado Mesa University each placed three wrestlers on the list, while Western Colorado University secured two selections. New Mexico Highlands University rounded out the group with one honoree.
