Regis’ Harrison & Colorado Mesa’s Eisenhauer Are RMAC’s Baseball Week 4 Honorees

Harrison drives in 8 RBI in a nonconference series win against Adams State; Eisenhauer tosses five scoreless frames in a win against MSU Billings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis University sophomore infielder Ayden Harrison and Colorado Mesa University right-handed pitcher Jackson Eisenhauer are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Baseball Athletes of the Week, announced Tuesday.

Colorado Mesa is riding a nine-game win streak and owns a 10-2 record after the season’s first four weekends. Metropolitan State University of Denver sits at 9-2 after taking an off week, while Colorado State University Pueblo is 7-5 after splitting a four-game set at Cal Poly Pomona last weekend.  

In the Feb. 23 National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America South Central Region Poll, Colorado Mesa remains No. 2, while MSU Denver slides into the No. 4 spot. CSU Pueblo dropped to No. 7 in the 10-team poll.  UCCS, which was ranked No. 10 last week, fell out of the poll but is receiving votes along with Regis.

Ayden Harrison, Regis (Sophomore, Infielder, Menifee, California)
Harrison batted .571 (8-of-14) with a double, home run, and eight RBI to help Regis win a three-game series against Adams State last weekend. He opened the series with a 3-for-6, four RBI outing that included a three-run home run. Harrison followed that with a 2-for-4, three RBI performance in Game 2 that included an RBI double and a two-run single. He closed the weekend with another three-hit day, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Harrison scored five runs and reached base at a .600 on-base percentage.

Jackson Eisenhauer, Colorado Mesa (Freshman, Right-Handed Pitcher, Los Angeles, California)
Eisenhauer picked up his first collegiate win and helped Colorado Mesa complete a four-game sweep of Montana State University Billings with five shutout frames in the Mavericks’ 7-1 win on Sunday. He scattered two hits and a hit batsman over his five frames, limiting MSU Billings to a .133 batting average. Eisenhauer struck out six of the 16 batters he faced, nearly facing the minimum, thanks to two double plays he induced.
