COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines' Imani Fernandez-Gorbea and University of Colorado Colorado Springs' Grace Solarin have earned the final Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Weekly Indoor Track and Field awards of the season.
This Friday and Saturday, Fernandez-Gorbea and Solarin along with qualifiers from across the league will compete in the 2026 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Western Colorado University.
Track Athlete of the Week
Imani Fernandez-Gorbea, Colorado School of Mines (Redshirt Senior, Boulder, Colorado)
Fernandez-Gorbea broke Colorado School of Mines' 800-meter record with a huge personal-best of 2:07.06, improving from her previous best of 2:11.54 set two weeks prior. The previous Orediggers' record was set by Aryelle Wright's time of 2:07.60 in 2023. Fernandez-Gorbea's mark currently stands as the fifth-best NCAA Division II and fourth-best RMAC marks.

Field Athlete of the Week
Grace Solarin, UCCS (Redshirt Junior, Aurora, Colorado)
Solarin earned a pair of first-place finishes on Saturday at Western Colorado's Last Chance RMAC Qualifier with wins in the weight throw and shot put. In the weight throw, Solarin posted a personal-best, NCAA provisional mark of 17.43 meters, which is currently the third best in the RMAC and 38th in NCAA Division II. She closed the day with another win in the shot put with a mark of 12.92 meters.
