UCCS’ Fannin and Regis’ Goetsch Sieze Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards

Fannin puts up seven points; Goetsch has 26 saves

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  University of Colorado Colorado Springs freshman Charlotte Fannin and Regis University graduate student Brigit Goetsch are the Week 3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Offensive
Charlotte Fannin, UCCS (Freshman, Attacker, Lakeville, Minnesota)
Fannin claims the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week award after helping her team in a 1-1 homestand against Northern Michigan and McKendree. In the first game of the week against Northern Michigan, the freshman tallied one goal on four total shots (two on target) and collected three assists. Her four points helped the Mountain Lions defeat the Wildcats 11-10.

In game two, the Lakeville, Minnesota, native found the back of the cage three times on five shots (four on goal) and tallied six ground balls. On the week, Fannin had four goals (all unassisted), three assists, a shot-on-goal percentage of .667, seven points, and 12 ground balls.

Defensive
Brigit Goetsch, Regis (Graduate Student, Goalie, Maple Grove, Minnesota)
For the second consecutive week, Goetsch has been named Defensive Player of the Week. The graduate student earned the honor after posting a 1-1 record in goal for the Rangers.

Regis opened the week against Florida Southern, where Goetsch made 11 saves on 38 shots faced while also collecting two ground balls. She and the Rangers bounced back in their second game of the week against Northern Michigan. In that matchup, Goetsch recorded 15 saves on 26 shots faced for an impressive .714 save percentage. She also added two ground balls and a caused turnover as the Rangers secured a 14-6 victory.

On the week, the Maple Grove, Minnesota, native totaled 26 saves with a .531 save percentage and an 11.50 goals-against average while adding four ground balls across 120 minutes in the cage.
