COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University freshman Molli Magaña and Colorado State University Pueblo senior McKenna James are the latest winners of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday.

Molli Magaña, Colorado Mesa (Freshman, Infield, Windsor, Colorado)
Magaña earns Player of the Week honors after powering the Mavericks to a 3-1 series win over Fort Lewis.
The Windsor native opened the series with a steady performance, collecting two hits and scoring a run. She followed with a breakout performance in Game 2, going 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBI, highlighted by a grand slam in Colorado Mesa’s 10-7 victory.
She carried that momentum into Game 3, adding a hit, a run, and three RBI while posting a perfect 1.000 slugging percentage in CMU’s dominant 16-1 win. Magaña capped the series in style, going 2-for-2 with a home run in the Mavericks’ 16-8 victory.
On the week, the freshman hit .571 (8-for-14) with six runs, a double, three home runs, and nine RBIs, posting a .625 on-base percentage and a 1.286 slugging percentage. Magaña homered in three consecutive games, launching a grand slam in Game 2 and adding two-run home runs in both Games 3 and 4.

Pitcher
McKenna James, CSU Pueblo (Senior, Pitcher, Windsor, Colorado)
James earns Pitcher of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, and for the second consecutive week, after leading CSU Pueblo to a sweep of UCCS with two wins across three appearances.
The Windsor native opened the series with a complete-game performance, allowing six hits and one earned run with three strikeouts in a 14-7 ThunderWolves victory. She followed that in Game 3 with another complete game, striking out four and continuing to control the Mountain Lions’ offense.
James made a brief but perfect final appearance in Game 4, retiring both batters she faced to finish the game with a 0.00 ERA.
For the series, James went 2-0 with a stellar 1.91 ERA, allowing just four earned runs over 14.2 innings while striking out seven. She issued only two walks, posted a 1.23 WHIP, and held opponents to a .288 batting average.
