Regis’ Schipfer and Colorado Mesa’s Hawkins Capture RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Schipfer records 12 goals in a 3-0 week; Hawkins etches her name in Colorado Mesa history

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis University senior Maggie Schipfer and Colorado Mesa University sophomore Heather Hawkins earned the Week 7 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week awards, the conference announced Monday.

Offensive
Maggie Schipfer, Regis (Senior, Midfielder, Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Schipfer earned her second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the 2026 season after leading the Rangers to a perfect 3-0 week, with wins over Colorado Mesa, Fort Lewis, and Colorado State University Pueblo.

In Regis’ opener against Colorado Mesa, Schipfer was unstoppable, tallying seven shots with three on target, with all three finding the back of the net. Each of her goals was unassisted, and she added four groundballs to help power a 10-5 victory. She followed that performance with a dominant outing against Fort Lewis, scoring five goals and dishing out two assists while placing all nine of her shots on goal. She also contributed two groundballs and forced a turnover in the 18-5 win. Schipfer capped the week with four goals and a groundball as Regis rallied from behind to defeat Colorado State University Pueblo, 15-9.

For the week, the Colorado Springs native recorded 12 goals on 23 shots, posting an impressive .739 shot-on-goal percentage. She finished with 14 points, seven ground balls, and two caused turnovers.

Defensive
Heather Hawkins, Colorado Mesa (Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Palmer Lake, Colorado)
Hawkins anchored the Mavericks in goal, helping guide the team to a 1-1 week. In Colorado Mesa’s first game, she recorded 10 saves over 60 minutes of action and added a caused turnover. Two days later, Hawkins delivered a standout performance against RMAC-leading Westminster, turning away a season-high 13 shots on 25 attempts while forcing two turnovers. Behind her effort in the cage, the Mavericks secured a decisive 18-6 victory over the Griffins.

With her performance this week, Hawkins raised her season total to 108 saves, becoming just the third Maverick goalkeeper in program history to surpass 100 saves in back-to-back seasons.
