COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  Colorado School of Mines' Dawson Gunn and Colorado Mesa University's Izaak Siefken are the Week 3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, presented by Genesee Nutrition.

Track Athlete of the Week
Dawson Gunn, Colorado School of Mines (Redshirt Junior, Sweetwater, Texas)

Gunn set the nation's best time in the 5,000-meter, crossing the finish line in 13:36.23 at the Stanford Invitational on Friday. His mark currently ranks No. 1 on the NCAA Division II outdoor performance list this season and is four seconds faster than the No. 2 time set by Drew Atkins of Northwest Missouri University. His performance stands as the second-fastest time in program history, trailing only former national champion Dillon Powell, who ran 13:30.93 at the Stanford Invitational in 2023.

Others Nominated: Landrum Wiley, Black Hills State; Mateo Luna, Colorado Christian; Teo Casados, Colorado Mesa; Caleb McLeod, CSU Pueblo; Craig Lyon, Regis; Logan Haynie, South Dakota Mines; Brett Davis, UCCS; Tyler Nord, Western Colorado.

Field Athlete of the Week
Izaak Siefken, Colorado Mesa (Redshirt Senior, Broomfield, Colorado)

Siefken recorded a throw of 66.30 meters (217' 6") in the javelin at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, marking the second-best mark in program history. Competing in the top flight, he placed fourth at the prestigious meet in Austin, Texas, only placing behind a top-3 Division II thrower and two Division I competitors. His mark would lead the RMAC by more than 10 feet, but his season's best of 68.58 meters (225' 0") holds an 18-foot advantage and currently stands as the No. 9 mark in Division II.

Others Nominated: Ryan Baker, Black Hills State; Ian Thomas, CSU Pueblo; Augustus Fink, South Dakota Mines; Michael Roberts, UCCS; Aiden Ellebracht, Western Colorado.
