INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Selections for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse National Championship were announced Tuesday afternoon via a press release from the NCAA. The Division II Men’s Outdoor Track Field selections featured 45 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference individuals across 51 total selections. The national championship is set for Thursday, May 21 through Saturday, May 23, at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas, hosted by Emporia State University.
Qualification was based on meeting NCAA provisional standards in each event, with the top 22 declared student-athletes selected for individual events, the top 16 declared relay teams (one per institution) accepted, and the top 16 declared student-athletes in the heptathlon and decathlon advancing to the national championship.
The RMAC will be heavily represented in the mid-distance and distance events at the national championship, showcasing the conference’s depth in one of its traditional strengths. The 800-meter run features five RMAC qualifiers, while the 1,500-meter welcomes seven conference representatives. The RMAC will also send six student-athletes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, ten in the 5,000-meter, and nine in the 10,000-meter run.
Colorado School of Mines leads the conference with 15 individual qualifiers and one relay entry, followed by Adams State with 12 total selections. University of Colorado Colorado Springs earned six entries, while Colorado Mesa University qualified three individuals and one relay team. Colorado State University has four entries, Western Colorado University and Colorado Christian University have three, while Black Hills State University, Fort Lewis College and Chadron State College each have one.
Several RMAC standouts enter the meet among the nation’s top contenders. Colorado School of Mines’ Dawson Gunn owns the top 5,000-meter time in Division II this season at 13:36.23, while Adams State’s Julian Campos leads the nation in the 10,000-meter at 28:40.63. In the 800-meter, CSU Pueblo’s Tim Anstett and Colorado School of Mines’ Tim Thompson rank fifth and sixth nationally, respectively, after posting times of 1:47.51 and 1:47.58.
The RMAC will look to make its mark in Emporia as the conference’s top talent competes for national titles against Division II’s best. A full list of qualifiers is available below.
