COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis University’s Brigit Goetsch has been tabbed as the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday. Goetsch spearheads a 13-member First Team Academic All-RMAC roster as selected by the league’s athletic communication directors.

Goetsch added Academic Player of the Year to an already impressive list of 2026 accolades, capping a standout season in which she earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors and helped lead the Rangers to the 2026 RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship title. Her success extended beyond the field and into the classroom, where the accounting graduate student maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA while earning First Team Academic All-RMAC honors for the second time in her career. On the field, Goetsch served as the backbone of the Rangers’ defense throughout the 2026 campaign. Appearing in 20 games, she recorded 195 saves and posted a .515 save percentage, which is the third-best mark in Division II. Her dominant season also earned her recognition on the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Team and Second Team All-American honors.

Goetsch leads a 13-member First Team Academic All-RMAC group with all six of the conference women’s lacrosse sponsoring member institutions represented. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Kendra Knutson and Westminster University’s Marianna Dick join Goetsch as the lone returners on the First Team Academic All-RMAC roster. Meanwhile, Colorado Mesa University’s Sophia Astone, Regis’ Abby Mays and Lexie Springman, UCCS’ Sydnee-Anne Moeller, and Colorado State University Pueblo’s Sophia Rinn all made the leap from Honor Roll to First Team.

In addition, the RMAC recognized 71 student-athletes, including the 13 First Team Academic All-RMAC honorees, on its 2026 Women’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport who academically maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition.

Each institution’s athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league’s athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
