COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University women’s basketball star Olivia Reed Thyne is the 2025-26 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Woman of the Year, the league announced Tuesday.

Reed Thyne claimed the conference’s highest honor after capping an extraordinary collegiate career with another dominant season for the Mavericks. The Windsor native also earned the 2025-26 RMAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, becoming just the third student-athlete in conference history to capture the RMAC’s two most prestigious individual honors in the same season. She joins Colorado Christian’s Sophia Proano (2017-18) and Colorado State University Pueblo’s Katherine Higgins (2024-25) in accomplishing the rare feat.

Reed Thyne’s 2025-26 campaign was one for the record books, cementing her place among the most accomplished women’s basketball players in RMAC history. On the court, she captured her third consecutive RMAC Player of the Year award and earned a fourth straight All-RMAC selection. In the classroom, she was named RMAC Academic Player of the Year for the third consecutive season and garnered her second straight selection to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Team.

Throughout her senior season, Reed Thyne established herself as one of the most dominant players in college basketball, as she averaged 22.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, ranking second and sixth nationally, while her 62.5% field-goal percentage stood as the third-best mark in the country. She also tallied 22 double-doubles, the second-most in Division II.

Reed Thyne’s impact extended well beyond her individual accolades, as she helped guide Colorado Mesa to a historic 37-2 overall record and an undefeated 20-0 conference mark. With her at the helm, the Mavericks secured both the RMAC regular-season and tournament championships. Colorado Mesa carried that momentum into the 2026 NCAA Division II Championship, advancing to the national semifinals.

Outside of her academic and athletic achievements, Reed Thyne has made a lasting impact on the community through her commitment to service during her time at Colorado Mesa. From 2023 to 2026, she dedicated her time to a variety of organizations and outreach initiatives, including Pamona Elementary, Challenger Baseball, Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary, Broadmoor Elementary, and Readathon, demonstrating the same passion and leadership off the court that defined her collegiate career.

“As a student-athlete at Colorado Mesa University, my experiences as a scholar, athlete, and leader have shaped me in ways that extend far beyond the classroom and court.” Said Reed Thyne. “While I am immensely grateful for the academic and athletic honors I have earned, the most meaningful growth has come through the adversity, relationships, and lessons that accompanied them.”

The RMAC Man & Woman of the Year Awards, first presented in 2015-16, honor a graduating student-athlete with outstanding academic achievements, athletic accomplishments, community service, and leadership throughout their career. Each member institution may nominate a student-athlete for each award.

Reed Thyne will be honored at the 2026 RMAC Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 9, at the COS City Hub in Colorado Springs. Doors will open at 5 p.m. MT, and the induction and awards ceremonies will follow promptly at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the 2026 RMAC Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Banquet are available for purchase at RMACSports.org/Tickets.
