COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines, the back-to-back Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s soccer champions, has been selected as the preseason favorites in the 2026 RMAC Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll released Thursday.

The league also announced its 2026 Preseason All-RMAC Women’s Soccer Team with 13 student-athletes earning recognition. Again this season, the RMAC’s preseason teams are determined by placing returning players in order of head coaches’ voting from the league’s 2025 All-RMAC Teams.
 

Colorado School of Mines sits atop the RMAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll with 134 points by way of three first-place votes, eight seconds, and one third. The Orediggers are coming off their second consecutive RMAC Women’s Soccer Championship, which also was the program’s 11th conference title. Last season, the Orediggers finished the season with a 14-2-5 overall record (9-1-2 RMAC) and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship. Bella Campos and Natalie Rouse lead the Orediggers into 2026, with the pair securing Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors last season, respectively.

Colorado Mesa University comes in a close second in the Coaches’ Poll, as the Mavericks secured five first-place votes, three seconds, and three thirds, for a total of 132 points. The Mavericks clinched the 2025 RMAC regular-season title last season, earning the No. 1 overall seed and hosting rights for the 2025 RMAC Championship. Following the RMAC Championship, CMU advanced to the NCAA Tournament, where they squared off against Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas. The Mavericks are represented by three student-athletes on the 2026 Preseason All-RMAC roster, including the reigning Goalkeeper of the Year, Keely Wieczorek.
 

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs finished just one point shy of a tie for second place with 131 points, bolstered by five first-place votes, two second-place votes, and four third-place votes. The Mountain Lions reached the semifinals of the 2025 RMAC Championship before rebounding with an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the third round. UCCS also placed three players on the Preseason All-Conference Team, tying Colorado Mesa for the most selections of any program.
 

Fort Lewis College claims fourth place with 109 points and four third-place votes, while Regis University rounds out the top five with 98 points. Westminster University follows in sixth with 81 points and one third-place vote. Metropolitan State University of Denver (71), Colorado Christian University (63), Colorado State University Pueblo (55), and Western Colorado University (47) complete the top 10.

Rounding out the preseason poll are Adams State University with 45 points, Black Hills State University with 35, and New Mexico Highlands University with 13.

The 13-member preseason team is composed entirely of student-athletes who earned First- or Second-Team All-RMAC recognition following the 2025 regular season.  Seven 2025 First Team All-RMAC selections return to headline the 2026 Preseason All-RMAC squad, joined by six returning Second Team All-RMAC honorees.

All RMAC women’s soccer matches broadcast by its 13 women’s soccer-sponsoring member institutions will be broadcast on the RMAC Network, with annual, monthly, and single-game passes available for purchase.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, headquartered in Colorado Springs, is a premier NCAA Division II conference with 15 institutions located in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah. The RMAC currently competes in 22 NCAA Division II sports and has earned 71 national championships since 1992. Founded in 1909, the RMAC is the most historic athletic conference in the western United States and Division II.
