COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fort Lewis College’s junior midfielder Raul Baptista Filipe and sophomore defender Noam Maggartou, along with Colorado Mesa University senior goalkeeper Nathan Beck, garnered this week’s Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive, Defensive and Goalkeeper of the Week awards announced by the conference on Tuesday.

OFFENSIVE
Raul Baptista Filipe, Fort Lewis (Junior, Midfielder, Santa Maria de Feira, Portugal)
Baptista Filipe had a hand in both matches, helping to power Fort Lewis to a 2-0 start in RMAC play with a 3-0 shutout of Colorado Christian and a 2-1 victory over MSU Denver, which was receiving votes on the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. He registered 77 minutes against CCU and 84 minutes at MSUD, while tallying four points and securing his first 3-point effort of his career (1 goal, 1 assist) at MSUD. Against the Cougars, Baptista Filipe assisted on the third goal that put the match away, sending a short service through two defenders in transition into the penalty area, where Simão Agostinho made the central pass for William Bretvik to punch in the score. At MSU Denver, Baptista Filipe played a role in both scores, first scoring the opening goal of the match in the third minute on a through-ball sent through three Roadrunners on the back line with a rifle off a volley from the top of the penalty area. In the seventh minute, he sent service into the penalty area from 45 yards out on the far touchline, where his teammate chipped it in for the game-winning goal. He now ranks 6th in total points (10), T-4th in assists (4), and T-6th in shots on goal (11) in the RMAC.

DEFENSIVE
Noam Maggartou, Fort Lewis (Sophomore, Defender, Mulhouse, France)
Maggartou led the Fort Lewis backline to a 2-0 opening weekend of RMAC play with a 3-0 clean sheet against Colorado Christian and a 2-1 win over MSU Denver, playing the full 90 minutes against each opponent. Against Colorado Christian, Maggartou and the defense allowed the Cougars to only get four shots on goal out of 17 shots taken.  In the team’s second game of the weekend, he then helped the Skyhawks hold the Roadrunners to two shots on goal (six total shots), including the penalty kick goal in the 33rd minute, which was awarded due to a foul by the goalkeeper.  He earned his first collegiate assist and point on the Skyhawks' first goal of the match, sending a service from Fort Lewis' back line through three Roadrunners on the MSUD back line, where his teammate was able to rifle a volley into the back-left corner of the net.

GOALKEEPER
Nathan Beck, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Goalkeeper, Glen Carbon, Ill.)
Beck tallied 15 total saves across two games this past weekend in RMAC action to guide the team to a 1-0-1 performance.  The senior tallied six saves against second-ranked UCCS in a 3-2 victory. He registered a career-high nine saves against 13^th-ranked CSU Pueblo during a 1-1 tie.
