COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 2 RMAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week awards on Tuesday, with Colorado School of Mines’ Bella Campos and Bella Torres joining Black Hills State University’s Rian Barthel as the latest honorees. Campos claims the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Torres and Barthel earn the Defensive and Goalkeeper honors, respectively.

Offensive
Bella Campos, Colorado School of Mines (Senior, Forward, Highland Village, Texas)
Campos claims the Week 2 Offensive Player of the Week award after leading the Orediggers to an undefeated week with victories over Angelo State and St. Mary’s (Texas). In Colorado School of Mines’ opening match of the week, the senior played just 35 minutes but made a significant impact, recording five shots, including three on target, and finding the back of the net twice. She also added an assist to finish with five points as the Orediggers cruised to a 5-0 victory over Angelo State. Campos delivered another standout performance in her next outing, again scoring twice and adding an assist to lead Mines to a 3-1 win. She opened the scoring late in the first half before assisting on the game-winning goal in the 69th minute. She then capped the scoring in the 83rd minute with her second goal of the match. With the two multi-goal performances, Campos recorded the 11th and 12th multi-goal matches of her career. She also tallied a goal and an assist in the same match for the eighth and ninth times in her career.

Defensive
Bella Torres, Colorado School of Mines (Freshman, Midfielder, Lakewood, Colo.)
Torres anchored the Orediggers’ defensive unit in a pair of victories over Angelo State and St. Mary’s (Texas), helping Colorado School of Mines secure an undefeated week while also making an impact on the offensive end. Against the Rambelles, Torres helped lead a defense that limited Angelo State to just one shot on goal while the Orediggers’ offense generated 26 total shots, including 16 on target. She also made her presence felt offensively, scoring the first goal of her career in the 35th minute. In Sunday’s contest against the Rattlers, Torres and the Orediggers’ defense once again held strong, allowing just eight total shots and only three on target. The freshman forced multiple turnovers while helping keep St. Mary’s in check. She also came through with another offensive contribution, finding the back of the net in the 69th minute to score the game-winning goal and secure the 3-1 victory.

Goalkeeper
Rian Barthel, Black Hills State (Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Casper, Wyo.)
Barthel earns Goalkeeper of the Week honors after locking down the goal for the Yellow Jackets during their 2-0 week, helping Black Hills State secure victories over the University of Mary and MSU Moorhead. Against UMary on Thursday, the Marauders recorded 30 total shots, including nine on target, but Barthel stood strong in goal, making a season-high seven saves to help the Yellow Jackets earn their first-ever victory over the Marauders. She allowed two goals in the contest while keeping Black Hills State in position to secure the historic win. In the Yellow Jackets’ next game Saturday, Barthel recorded her second shutout of the season and tied the school’s career record for complete-game shutouts with six. She faced 12 shots, including three on frame, against the Dragons while making three saves to preserve the clean sheet. For the week, Barthel made 10 saves and allowed just two goals on 42 shots faced. She finished with one shutout, a 1.00 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage across 180 minutes of action.
