COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs sophomore forward Yahann Fila and senior goalkeeper Hugo Sjöberg, along with Colorado State University Pueblo sophomore defender Pedro Martinez Castro, earned the latest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive, Defensive, and Goalkeeper of the Week awards, the conference announced Tuesday.

OFFENSIVE
Yohann Fila, UCCS (Sophomore, Forward, Nantes, France)
Fila was an offensive catalyst for the Mountain Lions last week, notching five points on two goals and one assist, totaling eight shots, six on goal. His performance led the team to a 1-1 draw against number one-ranked Midwestern State and a 2-1 win over Lubbock Christian.  Against MSU on Friday evening, Fila logged 81 minutes, recording two shots on goal and scoring a penalty kick in the 36th minute that gave the team a 1-0 lead. Fila played a crucial part in the Mountain Lions’ 2-1 win over Lubbock Christian on Sunday as he played the full 90 minutes, recording an assist on Lucas Taitt’s game-tying goal in the 51st minute before breaking away from the defense to score the game-winning goal in the 79th minute.

DEFENSIVE
Pedro Martinez Castro, CSU Pueblo (Sophomore, Defender, Langreo, Spain)
Pedro Martinez Castro made an impact on both ends of the pitch in CSU Pueblo’s 4-1 victory over Newman on Saturday. A true defender, he played all 90 minutes along the back line while also providing an offensive spark, scoring his second goal of the season. He finished the match with two shots, including one on goal, and recorded two points. The sophomore opened the scoring just 9:07 into the match, finishing a feed from Jose Peris Gimeno to put the ThunderWolves ahead 1-0 and help set the tone for the home-opening victory. Defensively, he helped CSU Pueblo limit Newman to four shots on goal to help the ThunderWolves improve to 3-0 on the season.

GOALIE
Hugo Sjöberg, UCCS (Senior, Goalkeeper, Kiel, Germany)
Sjöberg put together an impressive week in frame for the Mountain Lions as he played every minute between the sticks, recording a 1.00 GAA and 10 saves to help UCCS to a 1-1 draw against top-ranked Midwestern State and a 2-1 win over Lubbock Christian.  In Friday evening’s clash against Midwestern State, Sjöberg played the full 90 minutes in goal and surrendered just a single goal against a high-powered Mustangs squad that entered the day averaging 5.5 goals per game. The senior keeper collected five saves on six total chances on net. Sjöberg continued his success on Sunday against Lubbock Christian as he logged another 90-minute showing, grabbing five more saves and surrendering just one goal to help the Mountain Lions to a 2-1 win over the Chaparrals.
